Empede sewage treatment plant

The Empede sewage treatment plant, located between the city of Neustadt am Rübenberge and the village of Empede, decided on using a HUNING pusher plate container for the storage and loading of de-watered sludge as part of the renovation of their machine technology.

The retrofit took place step by step in order to continue using the existing decanter during the conversion phase. To do this, a screw conveyor with peripherals was first installed and temporarily connected to the mains supply.  Finally, the pusher plate container was built with further worm conveying technology. The plant was designed by HUNING EMSR so that the system could also be used before connection to the PLS system of the sewage treatment plant. The entire system is easily accessible for maintenance and monitoring purposes not least due to its construction. The roof was designed with a guardrail and can be reached from the floor via a short access ladder. The piling container has a volume of up to 100 cbm and is completely weighed. The discharge capacity for the loading of dump trucks is approx. 50 - 60 to/h in combination with the downstream worm conveying technology. During the conversion phase of the sewage treatment plant, HUNING also made a mobile container de-watering system from its sister company HUNING Umwelttechnik available.
