Secondary fuel receiving at the RWB Power AB power plant, location Ibbenbüren
For the RWE Ibbenbüren power plant, Huning erected a secondary fuel intake for the disposal of de-watered sewage sludge. The project was a turnkey solution; thus all the essential construction measures such as the foundations, delivery of the silo and mechanical set-up, MSR technology, control and cabling were fully realised.
Sludge is received through a 40 cbm receiving station with 3-part sliding frame discharge. A combination of horizontal and vertical worm conveyors of model range SP 460 take care of transport (capacity about 50 cbm/h) to the silo piling container with a volume of 500 cbm and a diameter of 10.5 m.
The silo is discharged through a sliding frame into a worm discharge conveyor arranged diagonally beneath the silo floor. The silo can be circumvented by a bypass solution, so direct transport from receiving to the peripheral conveying technology of the power plant and even rejection in case of faulty delivery are also facilitated.
The realised concept is distinguished by compact construction and since its commissioning has proven itself as especially reliable and robust in daily operation.
Ibbenbüren secondary fuel intake
The receiving station can be closed by a hydraulically actuated cover. The two-piece butterfly design prevents contamination because when the cover is opened, debris falls into the container instead of behind it. The container is also equipped with a grid for rejecting impurities.
